BUSSQ, the $4.5 billion super fund for building, construction and civil industry workers, has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Paula Masters as chair.

Masters, who joined the BUSSQ board as a director in April 2015, has 40 years' accounting experience in both commercial and not for profit organisations. In her previous position with the CFMEU, she was responsible for the administration of the CFMEU Apprentice Schemes from its establishment, BUSSQ said.

Masters also serves as a director with a number of building and construction industry related organisations including the Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT), Building Employees Welfare Trust (BEWT), Construction Training Centre (CTC), Construction Income Protection Limited (CIPL), and QCTF Fund Limited t/as Bert Training.

Masters succeeds Wally Trohear who served as chair following the January 2018 departure of long-serving chair, Bob Lette. Trohear retains his role as a member-elected director on the BUSSQ board.
