BT hires distribution head

BT has appointed Jason Brown to lead its platforms distribution team as it continues to invest in its Panorama platform and managed accounts offer.

Brown - who has been acting head of leading the 70-strong distribution team platform distribution since last December - was most recently head of account management at BT.

He will be responsible for continuing to build and drive BT Panorama's leading position.

A part of Brown's job will be a sharper focus on supporting advice practice professionals and BT's online and face-to-face time with advisers - both in providing practice development, regulatory and technical education events, as well as listening to and acting on adviser feedback.

He has been an integral part of BT for 14 years in business development and account management.

He was previously the head of account management for nearly five years and prior to that was regional manager, distributing BT Wrap and Asgard platforms across Queensland.

Before joining BT, the new platform distribution lead was previously a Queensland-based business manager at Mariner Financial.

He also worked at Midwinter and AXA.

"Jason is the right fit for the team at the right time," said BT chief strategy and product officer Kathy Vincent.

He has demonstrated strength in his leadership skills through market volatility, changing economic environments, as well as rapid growth and change."

Brown commented on BT's strong brand and said he looked forward to continuing to work with our dedicated team and the advisers and practices who have entrusted the firm to be the custodians of its clients' wealth.

As of March 31, BT has $130.8 billion of funds under administration across its platforms.

Further, BT Panorama has a 40 per cent share of the adviser market.
