Jamieson Coote Bonds has added James Wilson to its fixed income specialist investment team.

Wilson joins from the $60 billion Victorian Funds Management Corporation where he was most recently senior portfolio manager, fixed interest, and absolute returns.

Before that, he spent seven and half years at ANZ as a senior rates trader in Sydney and London. It was during that time, he met Angus Coote, the firm's executive director.

Wilson is currently a member of the finance committee at Bayley House, a not-for-profit that helps adults with intellectual disabilities.

"The appointment of James is another important investment in our business and will strengthen our team approach and ensure we are best placed to continue to deliver strong returns for our investors," said Charlie Jamieson, the firm's head of investment.

Wilson added that Jamieson Coote Bonds has rapidly become one of the most respected brands in the domestic fixed income market, and he was very much looking forward to being a part of the journey going forward.

Jamieson Coote Bonds was founded in 2013 by Charles Jamieson, who came from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Angus Coote, who headed ANZ bank's global central bank distribution.

The fixed income boutique now manages $5 billion on behalf of superannuation funds, wholesale and retail investors.
