BNY Mellon has announced the appointment of Rohan Singh as the firm's Asia Pacific head of asset servicing, effective June 27.

Based in Singapore, Singh will report to Samir Pandiri, executive vice president of BNY Mellon and chief executive officer of asset servicing and will join the firm's Asia Pacific leadership council and extended leadership team.

Commenting on Singh's appointment, Pandiri said: "[Rohan's] expertise and industry knowledge will be critical as BNY Mellon builds on strategic growth opportunities within alternative investments, exchange-traded funds, real estate, private equity and middle office solutions in the region."

Singh has 27 years' financial services industry experience, most recently as head of South East Asia for Northern Trust and before that as head of Northern Trust Australia, as well as head of sales for Asia Pacific. Previously, Singh was a director at Citibank and held several asset servicing leadership roles at the firm, including head of global custody sales South Asia.

At BNY Mellon, Singh succeeds Francis Braeckevelt, who has served in the role on an interim basis in addition to his role of Asia Pacific chief operating officer for asset servicing.
