BNP Paribas's securities services business has created a new role in Australis to support its product roadmap for institutional investors.

Philippe Kerdoncuff has been appointed head of asset owners and asset managers client lines, Australia and New Zealand.

The French banking giant said there were similar product management roles in other markets in Asia

In the new role, Philippe Kerdoncuff will report to the head of BNP Paribas' asset owner and asset manager client segment for Asia Pacific.

Kerdoncuff - who joined the firm in 2001 - was most recently head of its China business, where he oversaw the fast development of the bank's securities services business over the last six years.

Before his stint at the Shanghai business, he had international assignments within securities services and asset management in Europe and the USA.

Before that, Kerdoncuff held various global positions at the bank's headquarters in Paris, including head of global custody product management, head of new markets development and relationship manager for the AXA Group.

"Philippe's global experience across multiple client segments as well as his in-depth knowledge of securities services will be invaluable to his new role where he will continue to grow our successful business across Australia and New Zealand," said Daniel Cheever, head of securities services for BNP Paribas' Australia and New Zealand business.
