BNP Paribas's Securities Services has named a Sydney-based executive to help run one of its Asia Pacific businesses

Mark Wootton and Hugues Williamson will be client line co-heads of the financial intermediaries & corporates (FI&C) for BNP's securities services based in Hong Kong and Sydney respectively.

They will report to both the APAC head of securities services Franck Dubois and the global head of the FI&C client line Bruno Campenon.

Wootton will cover the South Asia and Pacific region with primary responsibility for derivatives and execution clearing, digital, global custody and local custody.

Williamson will be responsible for FI&C client strategy in North Asia and Greater China and the primary contact for broker dealing outsourcing, correspondent banking, cash management and liquidity solutions, execution to custody and third-party clearing.

The Sydney-based Wootton was previously APAC head of local custody and clearing product.

Before joining BNP Paribas, he was head of operations at Link Funds Solutions and settlements team leader at Perpetual.

Williamson joined BNP Paribas in 1999 in Paris and moved to APAC in 2008 to launch the bank's securities services business in Hong Kong.

Since then, he has held several roles, including chief operating officer for securities services in Hong Kong, APAC head of banking services operations and, most recently, APAC deputy head of FI&C client line.

BNP Paribas said the appointments are in response to the strong growth of the APAC Securities Services business, and the duo will drive the firm's FI&C client line strategy, initiatives and franchise within the region.

"Mark and Hugues bring extensive operational and client knowledge, putting us in a strong position to continue to grow our financial intermediaries & corporates offering in APAC - a key region for the bank's securities services business," said Campenon.

Dubois added: "Hugues and Mark bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and they will continue to strengthen the financial intermediaries & corporates' strategy in APAC.

"We have been investing steadily in this space in recent years, bolstering our offering to our clients."
