Blue Sky Alternative Investments (Blue Sky) has announced that chief operating officer (COO) Rob Shand will succeed retiring founder and managing director Mark Sowerby, effective 30 September 2016.
Shand joined Blue Sky from Bain & Co in 2010 as an investment manager, and moved into the role of chief operating officer in 2013.
Commenting on the appointment, Blue Sky chair John Kain said: "Rob's three years as COO give him an unparalleled understanding of what makes our business tick. His leadership, vision and clarity of decision-making qualify him to drive Blue Sky and build on the foundations of our first 10 years."
The firm is looking to appoint Shand's replacement internally.
