CountPlus has announced the appointment of Mark Chapman to the newly-created role of chief operating officer, effective 4 June 2018.

Chapman has spent the last five years as the CEO of Bentleys and will depart at the end of this week to spend time with his family in the UK before taking on his new role with CountPlus next month. According to a statement from CountPlus, during his tenure at Bentleys, Chapman doubled the size of the number of membership firms within the Bentleys network.

Prior to his corporate roles, he served as a military officer within the British Army, where he was awarded an MBE for international stakeholder engagement. He has also served in the Australian Army.

Speaking to Industry Moves, Chapman said that "now was the right time to step down" as he feels as though he has achieved all he set out to. He added that "the opportunity to join an ASX listed company, under the leadership of Matthew Rowe, was too good to pass up."

Commenting on his appointment at CountPlus, CEO, Matthew Rowe, said: "CountPlus will benefit from Mr Chapman's unique leadership qualities and sector experience. He will be responsible for embedding our value proposition and growing the network of firms under the 'Owner-Driver, Partner' model."

Bentleys is currently recruiting to appoint a new CEO and Chapman will continue to advise the business in the interim to ensure for a smooth transition.
