Bennelong Funds Management (Bennelong) has promoted its head of finance and operations, Hamish Wood, to chief strategy officer, effective August 2017.

In this role, Wood is responsible for ensuring the operational goals of the firm are aligned with Bennelong's strategic direction. He reports to CEO, Craig Bingham.

Wood joined Bennelong in February 2012 as head of governance and finance and was promoted to head of finance and operations before assuming his current position. He has over 10 years' experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Bennelong, he spent four years with GLG Partners in London as a manager in the finance division. He has also previously held positions with Citigroup (London) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (New Zealand).

Commenting on his promotion, Bingham said: "In his five years with Bennelong, Hamish has held a number of roles within the business and has a solid understanding of our future growth plans. He will lead the organisation-wide programs that will support our ongoing sustainable growth and will continue to support our off-shore efforts."

Wood has been replaced as head of finance by Raymond Lau, who was most recently the firm's finance manager.
