First State Super has announced it will fully integrate its financial advice business, StatePlus, and that StatePlus CEO, Graeme Arnott, has been appointed deputy CEO at First State Super.

Arnott served as acting CEO and then CEO of StatePlus following its acquisition by First State Super in June 2016. Previously, he served nine years with First State Super as both chief operating officer and then deputy chief executive.

First State Super CEO Deanne Stewart said of the integration: "We want to make advice accessible for all of our members because we believe in the difference quality advice can make to their retirement outcomes. Our new integrated structure will help us to continue to deliver and evolve our range of personalized advice services."

Arnott's first responsibility in the new role will be to oversee the integration. He will also act as group executive advice until a permanent appointment is announced later in the year.

Leaving StatePlus is general manager, financial planning, Andrew Vogt and general manager, business development & marketing, James Panaretos.

In other news, First State Super has announced the retirement of chief operating officer, Guy McAliece - who will be succeeded by new COO Jo Brennan - and the departure of chief digital officer, Mary Murphy.
