Aware Super has appointed Kendal Mogg functional head of investment analytics, hiring from 1886 Consulting.

In this new and very senior role, Mogg will report to the superannuation fund's head of investment services Michael Nairnown.

As functional head of investment analytics, Mogg will own Aware Super's investment performance and attribution as well as ex-post analytics.

The superannuation fund said she would also play a key role in implementing the fund's new platform solution that facilitates the investment team's overall internalisation strategy.

Mogg brings with her twenty years of experience in the industry, mostly in performance and analytics roles.

Before her stint at 1886 Consulting, she worked as a project manager at BT Investment Solutions and as an investment analytics manager at AMP Capital.

"We are delighted to welcome Kendal to the Investment Services team at a time when the fund is internalising its investment capabilities with a strategic objective of delivering lower fees and maximising returns for our 1.1 million members," Nairn said.

"Our investment services division is focused on executing a number of key strategic enablers including: embedding a centralised investment data management system; the provision of access to best-in-class data-enabled platforms; and the establishment of partnerships with proven service providers."

Separately, Aware Super continues to build its investment team with the appointment of Alexander Bennet as a senior investment analyst.

Bennet - who joins the credit income team - arrives from Tanarra Credit Partners where she worked for more than two years.

Also, Christian Langborn has been promoted to senior investment analyst - equities.

Longhorn has eight years' experience in funds management and financial markets, with a global background, having worked and lived in Australia, UK, New Zealand, Sweden and Portugal.
