Date: May 2018
Position: Director - Fund Representative

SuperFriend, the mental health foundation in partnership with the superannuation and insurance industries, has appointed Craig Stevens as a fund representative on its board of directors.

Stevens has more than 30 years' experience in financial services, across superannuation, group risk and investment management. He is currently the chief executive officer of AustSafe Super, the industry super fund for rural and regional Australia, a position he has held for almost 12 years.

SuperFriend CEO, Margo Lydon, said of his appointment: "We warmly welcome Craig to the Board. His commitment to the mental health of his own employees shows that he will not only bring business strategy and corporate governance expertise but will be a great champion for the value of a well workforce."

Stevens added: "With so many rural and regional members at AustSafe, we are all too familiar with the financial and isolation distress that people are up against. If we can grow our capability to provide appropriate support to our members when they come to us due to job loss, injury or financial hardship then we'll be better at our job of getting them to a healthy, happy and financially secure retirement."

Stevens previously served as a member of SuperFriend's nominations committee where he assisted the board in the selection of its directors.
