Position: Chief Risk Officer

Paul Schroder has been promoted to be the new chief risk officer for AustralianSuper, replacing Tony Cavanagh who retired this year after 12 years with the organisation and 30 years in finance.

Schroder takes on the newly created role after having held several senior positions at AustralianSuper since he joined the organisation in 2007. Most recently he was group executive, strategy, brand, and reputation and led the Fund's response to the Hayne Banking Royal Commission.

There were several other new appointments announced, including Peter Curtis as group executive, finance and operations and Sarah Burley as acting group executive, strategy, brand, and reputation.

AustralianSuper Chief Executive, Ian Silk, said the new appointments placed the organisation in a strong position to continue to deliver for members and prepare for its next phase of growth.

"AustralianSuper is committed to continuing to generate strong performance for members and these appointments will ensure we can deliver on our mission of helping members achieve their best possible retirement outcome," Silk said.

"The Fund is extremely fortunate to have such strong internal candidates to fill executive roles as they become available."

"Paul, Sarah and Peter have extensive experience in financial services and are well placed to help lead the organisation while always ensuring members' best interests are placed at the centre of our decision making and actions."
