After spending over four years at AustralianSuper, Daniel Pool will join the small band of investment specialists moving to offshore sovereign wealth funds.

Pool - an associate portfolio manager at the superannuation giant - will take up a role in the fast-growing Abu Dhabi Pension fund.

He has been appointed senior quant analyst in the public markets team.

Pool joins Philip Cheong, who left Russell Investments last year to join the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund as portfolio manager of strategy and asset allocation.

Before his time at Australia's largest super fund, Pool worked at QIC as a research analyst.

Former LGIA investment chief Troy Rieck was recently appointed chief investment officer at Emirates Investment Authority based in Abu Dhabi.

Also, former AMP Capital Nader Naeimi relocated to the US774 billion Singapore-based GIC eleven months ago before being promoted to a senior role in June.

For Pool, the move meant being closer to his family in the Seychelles.

Still, he is excited to be moving on to a great new opportunity in Abu Dhabi.

"I'd mention names of people {at AustralianSuper} and highlight experiences, but such a list would be too long!

"A big thank you to all of those involved in this great journey.

"Keen for the new path ahead!
