John Iles has jumped from Australia's largest pension fund to the Colonial First State.
He has been appointed executive director and head of cash management and derivatives at the $145 billion asset manager.
At AustralianSuper, he spent six years as a portfolio manager- equities portfolio implementation.
In that role, he deployed overlay hedges to counteract equity exposure as well as strategic risk.
Before that, he worked in the global equity and quant team at UniSuper and earlier held several roles in asset management companies.
These previous roles include investment operations at Auckland-based ASB and fixed-income trade support at UK-based Colchester Global Investors.
Meanwhile, Colonial First State has hired Michael Smith as director of investment governance.
Before a quick stay as an investment solutions consultant at Centrepoint Alliance, Smith spent 13 years at BT overseeing portfolio and menu management and platform investment product management.
