AustralianSuper has appointed an executive to build up the fitness of its investment process for fixed-income, currency and cash.
As head of investment capability for this asset class, Kris Tan is responsible for designing and implementing the capabilities supporting the fund's portfolio strategy and global operating model.
Simply put, the investment capability team determines the critical drivers that could influence a particular strategy.
It's another area of investment operations aiming to optimise every value chain part.
Kris Tan reports to Katie Dean, head of FICC, and sits within the investment team.
Tan - who has been with Australia's largest superannuation fund for just over nine years - was promoted from a senior manager role.
Before joining Australia's largest superannuation fund as a manager, he worked at ANZ for 18 months, arriving from EY.
Previously, Tan spent seven years as a management consultant advising clients on IT and performance improvement.
Separately, Michael Stavropoulos, head of portfolio construction and strategy, and Joseph Wahbah, head of manager research for global equities have left the fund following AustralianSuper's buildup of the global equities team in the UK.
