Auscap chief joins Pendal as sales head

Auscap Asset Management CEO and head of distribution, Lee Hopperton, has joined Pendal Group as head of high net wealth sales.

Hopperton spent more than four years with Auscap.

In his new role, he'll look after Pendal's sales and relationship management for the high net wealth channel, including family offices.

In comments to Financial Standard, a Pendal spokesperson said, "The HNW channel is a key strategic priority for Pendal in the Australian wholesale market. We are delighted to have attracted a sales manager of Lee's calibre and experience."

Hopperton has international distribution experience, heading equity distribution for JP Morgan in Seoul and Asia Pacific equities distribution from London. He spent more than eight years with Macquarie Bank looking after Australian equities and doing equities research in Sydney and London.
