Ausbil Investment Management has hired a business development manager from Insignia Financial to look after its wholesale clients in Victoria and Tasmania.

Reporting to Ausbil's head of wholesale distribution Hik Chadirchi, Michael Peros is tasked with accelerating new business growth in the southern region.

Peros will work alongside Marko Matosevic who joined Ausbil in 2022.

He replaces Rebecca Morgan, who left to join Cooper Investments late last year.

Peros worked for 18 months at Insignia executing the distribution of former chief executive Renato Motta's vision of rolling the IOOF, MLC and ANZ Wealth platform offerings into one.

Chadirchi said Peros brings a broad range of skills having previously owned and run an advice business prior to commencing his career in the funds management industry."

"Prior to Insignia, Michael worked as a Senior Financial Adviser managing a financial planning practice which equipped him with a deep understanding of the financial planning landscape, the needs of clients, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders across the industry," he added.

After working as a financial adviser for 15 years, Peros' long-term goal was to land in asset management.

"The opportunity presented itself within Ausbil. I had worked with them as an adviser and now am looking to represent them from a business relationship perspective," he said.

"I have worked in boutique, self-employed and corporate sectors of the financial services industry to now provide investment solutions across Victoria and Tasmania."

Previous advisor roles include at AMP Advice,  Clear Advantage Financial Group, PROSPA Financial and Catalyst Financial Group.

Ausbil was established in 1997 and manages over $16.6 billion in funds under management.
