Ausbil appoints PM to lead new global listed infrastructure strategy

Ausbil has announced four new hires to create a global listed infrastructure capability.

Tim Humphreys has been appointed as a portfolio manager and will take responsibility for the overall construction of the portfolio in July. Joining him are Jon Reyes, who will join as a co-portfolio manager & head of transportation and Paul Johnston who will join as head of utilities. Ausbil will announce one more member of the new team in due course. The team will report to CEO, Ross Youngman.

Humphreys has over 20 years' financial markets experience working in Europe and Sydney, including roles with AMP Capital, RARE and Rothschild Asset Management. Most recently, he was the head of global infrastructure at AMP Capital, a role that he left in November 2016.

Commenting on the new strategy, executive chair and head of equities, Paul Xiradis, said: "Australian equities are our strength and we'll maintain a laser-like focus there. At the same time, we wish to assist our clients with high quality global solutions and this announcement is consistent with that. Our domestic equity strategies may invest in infrastructure so we see synergies with the new global team."

Youngman added: "We're a decade into the global economic recovery with positive implications for global infrastructure. Our clients want exposure to the theme so we're delighted to secure individuals of this calibre to implement our investment strategy."
