Ausbil appoints Co-Portfolio Manager & Head of Transportation

Ausbil has announced four new hires to create a global listed infrastructure capability.

John Reyes has been appointed as co-portfolio manager & head of transportation and will take responsibility for construction of the portfolio as well as analysis of the transportation sector in July.

He has over 15 years' financial markets experience and previously held roles with AMP Capital, RARE Infrastructure and Bear Sterns. Joining him are Tim Humphreys, who will take on the role of portfolio manager and Paul Johnston who will join as head of utilities. Ausbil will announce one more member of the new team in due course. The team will report to CEO, Ross Youngman.

Commenting on the new strategy, executive chair and head of equities, Paul Xiradis, said: "Australian equities are our strength and we'll maintain a laser-like focus there. At the same time, we wish to assist our clients with high quality global solutions and this announcement is consistent with that. Our domestic equity strategies may invest in infrastructure so we see synergies with the new global team."
