Atrium Investment Management has appointed Will Morgan to the newly created role of portfolio manager, in private markets.

In this newly created role, he is tasked with strengthening the investment, governance and operational frameworks around Atrium's private market assets which include investments in property, debt financing and agriculture.

Atrium said Morgan brings a diverse set of skills to Atrium, spanning direct investment, external manager due diligence, technology and distribution. He has worked as a product specialist for Shed Enterprises and a business analyst for Transpacific Industries. Earlier, he spent seven years as an equity derivatives trader for Credit Suisse.

"The new position extends Atrium's capability in private markets that have long played a role in enabling its multi-asset portfolios to achieve consistent, risk-targeted outcomes," Atrium said.

Commenting on the appointment, Atrium chief investment officer Tony Edwards said the recruit's analytical skills and investment experience, combined with his financial expertise and business acumen, will be a great asset to the team.

"Being able to leverage Will's background within the Atrium investment process brings a different perspective to our existing capability and will be highly valuable in broadening our thinking," he said.

"I am excited to join a high-performing team at such an important time in the evolution of the Atrium business," added Morgan.

"I'm greatly looking forward to working with the team to drive growth across private market investment."

His appointment follows two further recent additions to the Atrium team.

James White has recently joined as an investment specialist, with Serena Sefton taking on the head of legal role.

White's previous roles include chief investment officer for Hong Kong-based Eminence Asset Management.

Sefton has held senior legal and compliance positions with TCorp and Colonial First State.
