Atrium hires ex-Pendal exec as COO

Atrium Investment Management has appointed a former Pendal executive as a chief operating officer.

As head of operations David Harris will join the executive team and work alongside Tony Edwards, the firm's investment chief to drive overall strategy.

Harris brings a 20-year track record of operational excellence, change management and corporate governance to the firm.

Before joining Atrium, Harris held executive and leadership roles within asset management firms in Australia and across the Asia Pacific, most recently as head of product at Pendal Group.

Prior to Pendal, Harris worked at GAM Investments as head of business operations and AMP Capital as senior project manager in charge of  strategy and transformation.

Earlier, he held product development roles at NAB Asset Management and Man Investments.

Commenting on the announcement, Edwards said Harris' track record in operations, corporate governance, and risk management places him in a strong position to deliver on Atrium's operational efficiency programs and growth agenda, including its expansion into the broader advice market.

"I look forward to working with David to execute Atrium's strategy."

For his part, Harris said: "I am delighted to be joining the team at Atrium at a very exciting stage of their evolution and am looking forward to contributing to the execution of its growth agenda."
