The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has announced that former TAL CEO and recent ASFA chair, Jim Minto, will become acting CEO of ASFA from 16 July 2016 until the appointment of a permanent CEO.

Commenting on the decision, ASFA Chair Dr Michael Easson said: "The Board intends to conclude its thorough selection process by announcing a new CEO on Monday 5th September. In the meantime, we are delighted to have a leader of Jim Minto's calibre and experience step in during this transition period."

Minto will replace ASFA CEO Pauline Vamos, who announced her resignation earlier this year and leaves on 15th July, after nearly nine years at the helm.

Dr Easson said: "Pauline has been tremendous over the last five months since announcing her resignation. She has continued to run ASFA with the same energy and passion she is renowned for, while being patient with the board in taking our time finding the right candidate."

He added: "I would like to thank Pauline for the enormous contribution she has made to ASFA and the industry and to wish her every success for the future."
