ISPT, the $20 billion property fund set up by Australia's largest pension funds, has lost another executive to an asset owner.

Jessica Chen has landed at Australian Retirement Trust as a portfolio manager within the global real estate team.

She reports to Mark Lee, senior portfolio manager of real estate.

At ISPT, Chen worked in the new business team.

Specifically, she was the bid and transaction lead tasked with negotiating and structuring deals.

Chen joined ISPT from Mirvac, the property giant where she worked for seven years, most recently as senior legal counsel.

There she also worked at the coalface.

Chen was the transaction lead for government bids for real estate and infrastructure projects, including structuring, risk allocation, construction and operational management.

The appointment underlines the importance that superannuation funds are placed on experience in transacting and reviewing deals and co-investments.

After 16 years at ISPT,  Danielle Dalby joined HESTA last October as general manager of unlisted asset management.
