ART taps former Aware Super risk exec

Virginia Zhong has joined Australian Retirement Trust as a risk manager, investments.

Zhong joins from QBE where she did a short 5-month stint as manager, of investment & treasury risk and governance after working for Aware Super for seven years where most recently, she was a senior investment risk manager.

Before that, she spent five years at the National Australia Bank's compliance function leading a team of seven.

She joined NAB as an investment analyst at the start of her career in 2010

Zhong's appointment as investment risk manager should not be confused with the recent promotion of the two risk specialists to more senior roles.

She is a divisional risk manager and sits in the investment team.

In April, ART promoted Nick Horn to  head of investment risk and Bridget Piggott to head of risk.

Unlike Horn and Piggott who both sit in the risk function, Zhong sits in the investment resilience and planning team.
