ANZ senior research manager launches consulting firm

After two years as senior manager of mandate research at ANZ Global Wealth, Nigel Douglas has left the company and launched independent investment advice firm, Douglas Funds Consulting, Douglas confirmed to Industry Moves that a streamlining of positions within the ANZ chief investment office prompted his decision to realise a "long held goal" to set up his own consultancy.

"[The new firm] will be purely 'business to business' and concentrate on specialised funds research across retail, high net worth and institutional market segments, investment committee or non-executive director input, coaching fund managers to achieve higher ratings and assessing rating houses and asset consultants for certain clients", Douglas said.

Prior to joining ANZ in 2013, Douglas spent three years as head of private wealth investment research at Perpetual and before that spent nine years as head of research at van Eyk.
