ANZ has announced that chief investment officer, Graham Ansell, is stepping down after five years in the role and 22 years at ANZ, effective April 2018.

Commenting on his departure, ANZ managing director wealth, Craig Mullholland, said: "I want to thank Graham for his contribution to ANZ and to the success of our Investments business. After five years as chief investment officer this is a natural time for him to be thinking about his next opportunity. I wish him every success in the future."

Stepping into the role is senior New Zealand executive and former London-based J.P. Morgan managing director, Paul Huxford, who has been appointed as acting chief investment officer of ANZ Investments. Huxford will work with Ansell during a handover period.

ANZ has commenced a search for a new chief investment officer which will include both internal and external candidates.
