ANZ adds O'Reilly to board

The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has appointed Christine O'Reilly to its board as a non-executive director.

O'Reilly is a prolific director, currently serving on the boards of BHP, Medibank Private, Stockland, and the Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute. Her previous directing positions were similarly diverse, with CSL, Energy Australia, and Transurban.

During her executive career, O'Reilly was the CEO of GasNet Australia and was co-head of unlisted infrastructure with Colonial First State Global Asset Management.

Sher started her career with PwC in investment banking and audit roles.

"Christine is one of Australia's most experienced company directors and I know she will make a valued contribution to ANZ and our shareholders," said chair Paul O'Sullivan. "Christine has had broad exposure to the financial services industry as well as extensive experience in domestic and offshore companies. We look forward to Christine joining the Board in November."

O'Reilly will stand for election at the ANZ AGM in December.
