The latest appointments at Perpetual Ltd and Victoria Funds Management Corporation have seen two analysts rise to manager rank.

Damen Kloeckner and Sarah Gaskin have cemented their status as leading analysts after eight years on the job.

The VFMC has appointed Sarah Gaskin as senior manager of stewardship recruiting from outside the investment arm of the Victorian government.

Previously, Gaskin was a senior analyst within the responsible Investment team at Aware Super.

She had eight years at the superannuation fund, starting as a responsible investment analyst.

Before that, Gaskin spent five years as a research assistant at the University of New South Wales.

For his part, Kloeckner has been promoted to deputy portfolio manager within Perpetual Private's investment team.

While he will have portfolio management responsibilities covering the firm's Responsible Investment fund, he will continue to analyse stocks in several sectors, including technology, industrials and small caps.

He joined Perpetual's direct equities team in 2018, looking after high-net-worth private clients through their discretionary separately managed accounts.

His team of five oversaw roughly $5 billion of assets.

Kloeckner started his career as an analyst at Clime Investment Management, where he spent three years.

"A passionate investor and analyst, currently covering the Australian equities market. I have a strong background in deep fundamental research, particularly in industrial sectors," he posted on social media.

"I relish the challenge of uncovering unseen opportunities within companies, strategies and markets. A perpetual student, I am forever seeking to learn from my mistakes and expand my skill set."
