AMP Australia CEO Alex Wade has stepped down from his role, effective immediately.
Wade joined AMP 18 months ago as group executive for advice and was named chief executive for Australian wealth management shortly thereafter. He was appointed chief executive officer for AMP Australia in November.
New Zealand Wealth Management (NZWM) CEO Blair Vernon has been appointed acting CEO of AMP Australia while a search is conducted for a permanent replacement.
AMP has been consolidating their wealth and banking leadership teams in recent years.
Before joining AMP Australia, Wade spent a dozen years with Credit Suisse in Singapore and held various roles with J.P. Morgan in Australia and Hong Kong.
