AMP appoints Group Exec Insurance

AMP Limited has announced a series of changes to its senior leadership, including the appointment of Megan Beer as group executive of insurance.

Beer joined AMP in February 2014 as director of insurance, responsible for AMP's retail and group risk insurance portfolio within group executive Pauline Blight-Johnston's then newly-created insurance and superannuation division.

Before joining AMP, Beer headed NAB's wealth management and insurance proposition, as general manager bancassurance and direct.

Commenting on the announced changes, which include several new appointments and three executive departures, including the departure of Blight-Johnston, AMP chief executive Craig Meller said: "The new group structure delivers sharper focus on performance in the core Australian businesses, drives efficiency across the group and provides increased emphasis on the growth drivers in the portfolio."

Beer will commence in the new role on 1 January 2017 and report directly to Meller.
