AMP appoints advice executive

AMP has appointed Luke Symons as director of channel performance & growth in its Advice business.

AMP said in a statement that this is "a key strategic role, responsible for strengthening AMP's advice network and the professional delivery of financial advice."

Symons, who has experience across advice, retail & commercial banking, and wealth management, previously held a number of executive leadership roles at ANZ, including general manager of financial planning and general manager of mobile lending.

He is also the founder of advisory and fintech business, Responsible Financial Services (RFS) Group.

Commenting on his appointment, AMP's acting group executive advice, David Akers, said: "Luke's background covers many areas that are priorities for our business, such as digital solutions and strategy development. He also understands small businesses and how to partner with them to help them grow sustainably, which is a boost for the hundreds of advice practices in our aligned advice network."
