AMP affirms CFO

AMP has named James Georgeson as chief financial officer. He has been in that role in an acting capacity since August 2019.

The organisation says the appointment comes after an external and internal search to find a CFO that aligns with AMPs needs and culture.

Georgeson is a familiar name at AMP, having held several senior roles during his more than 16 years with the organisation. He started as the group consolidation manager in 2003, was the CFO of AMP Financial Services in New Zealand, and came back to Australia to take on a chief risk officer and head of strategy role. Before being appointed to the acting CFO role, Georgeson was the director of group finance and deputy CFO.

He joins the AMP group leadership team, reporting to CEO Francesco De Ferrari. De Ferrari said he was delighted to officially welcome Georgeson. "He has proved his capability in the role of Acting CFO and Deputy CFO, earning the trust of his peers, the broader organisation, and our investors. He brings the experience and deep knowledge of AMP that will help to drive the execution of our strategy as we transform into a client-led, simpler, growth-orientated business."
