AMIST Super, the $2 billion fund for the meat industry, has announced the appointment of its first independent chair, Greg Camm, effective 19 April 2018.

He succeeds long-serving chair Kevin Cottrill who passed away unexpectedly in December last year.

Camm, who retired from a full-time executive career in financial services in 2012, previously held senior executive positions with ANZ Bank, AMP and Superpartners. He is currently a non-executive director for Bank Australia and the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and was formerly chair of Praemium.

AMIST has also announced the appointment of its first female board member, Kerry Johnson, who has joined as an employer elected representative.

Commenting on the new appointments, AMIST's CEO, Murray Rutherford, said: "the board and I are delighted to have these two extremely experienced professionals join us. Mr Camm has a very strong background in financial services and Ms Johnson's meat industry-based HR expertise is exceptional. We look forward to their contribution to the fund and we are also very pleased to welcome our first ever female board member."
