AIST adds board member

Neisha Traill, a trustee with Energy Super, has been elected to the board of the AIST.

Traill, who represents people working in the energy and electrical trades sector, came from industry. She started working on the reception desk with the Electrical Trades Union (ETU) at 18. She recently finished up with the ETU, where she was an industrial officer, after more than 16 years. She's returned to school full-time to study psychology.

Traill said that her appreciation for the AIST, particularly policy and advocacy work, made her want to join the organisation. "I think that the training and development it provides is the best in the industry, and I've admired its agility in responding to COVID - of being able to still meet the training and development needs of members online and through different channels.

"I'm really interested in the ongoing policy development, and the training side of the organisation. One of our biggest strengths is creating the support for funds to best represent members - ensuring that support is relevant, accessible, and appropriate is really important, and I'd love to be involved in the ongoing transformation of the professional development, conference, and training being offered by AIST."
