AIA Australia has added QIC director and former Qantas Super chief executive Jane Perry to its board.
Perry has had more than three decades' experience in leadership roles, mainly in financial services.
She spent 11 years at AXA working in operations and human resources roles until she was promoted to operating chief.
Perry later joined J.P. Morgan Chase as its local chief executive of Worldwide Securities Services, its investment unit.
She was later elevated to treasury and securities services.
Perry was then appointed chief executive of Qantas Super, a position she held for almost four years.
After departing the superannuation fund four years later, she has taken on several non-executive directorships.
She currently sits on the QIC board, the investment arm of the Queensland Government, serving on its risk and audit committees.
Perry's previous board roles include membership of the Westpac BT Financial Group superannuation boards, including chair of the insurance sub-committee, National Mutual Superannuation, National Mutual Staff Superannuation Plan and J.P. Morgan Nominees Australia.
AIA Australia chief executive Damien Mu said he was "delighted" to confirm Perry's appointment as an independent director.
"Jane is extremely accomplished, and we look forward to drawing on her operational and leadership expertise to help us pursue our dream to make Australia the healthiest and best-protected nation in the world," he said.
