AFA exec returns as GM Policy & Professionalism

The Association of Financial Advisers Australia (AFA) has announced the appointment of Philip Anderson to the role of general manager, policy and professionalism, effective 19 June 2017.

Anderson joins from netwealth, where he was the dealer group's head of governance and advice. Before this, he was the chief operating officer at AFA from 2011 until October 2015, and previously held roles with Colonial First State and MLC.

Commenting on his return to the AFA, CEO, Phil Kewin, said: "Phil has a tried and proven track record in the field of policy and professionalism and a passion for advice that we believe will assist the AFA and its members take advice in Australia to the next level."

Anderson added: "I believe the AFA is a place where I can make a real difference in the process of making financial advice a recognised profession.This is a challenging and exciting time for the profession as we progress with the implementation of the professional standards legislation."

Anderson replaces Samantha Clarke who resigned last month to pursue her established business, Advice RegTech
