Date: May 2017
Position: Deputy Chair

The Australian Custodial Services Association (ACSA) has announced the appointment of Daniel Cheever as deputy chair of its board, effective October 2016. Cheever, who joined the board in December 2013, succeeds former deputy chair, Martin Carpenter, who officially left ACSA in February 2017 after nearly two years as deputy and seven years on the board.

Cheever is the head of client management for Global Services at State Street, where he and his relationship management team are responsible for the firm's relationships with its custody clients. He joined State Street in 1998 and was appointed to the client management role in October 2016 having previously led State Street's superannuation servicing strategy.

ACSA has also announced that Daryl Crich, from BNP Paribas Security Services, has replaced Gordon Little as treasurer; and Citi's Andrew Gibson, has filled the director's role vacated by Carpenter.

Commenting on the changes, ACSA's chair, David Knights, said: "We are facing a period of significant operational change going forward...the custodial industry is responsible for $3 trillion of assets under custody and administration, and the work that all of our members do is important in helping our own organisations, and our clients, navigate this environment successfully."

"ACSA has been working with regulators and the broader industry to address these challenges and implement changes to improve the efficiency of Australia's funds management sector."
