Acorn Capital founder and microcap investment pioneer Bary Fairley has retired after 22 years with the business.
Fairley, who stepped back as managing director in 2016, has also retired from the company's board.
"While leaving, I know the firm is in good hands," he said. "It has a strong and experienced leadership team to build on its purpose of investing in Australia's most promising small and emerging companies."
Before founding Acorn, Fairley founded listed mining and resources company Triako Resources and was a director with McIntosh Securities where he was responsible for mining research and corporate activities.
