Acadian appoints VP, Portfolio Management & Research

Acadian Asset Management (Australia) has appointed Suhail Mehra as vice president, portfolio management and research, based in Acadian's Sydney office.

Mehra was previously a portfolio manager at Macquarie Funds Group and before that was a quantitative analyst with both Macquarie Funds Group and Citigroup in Sydney.

In the new role, Suhail will focus on portfolio management for a number of Acadian's long only and long-short strategies along with undertaking research into alpha signals, risk modelling, portfolio construction and tax-effective income strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Acadian Australia CEO Andrew Hair said: "We're delighted to have Suhail join the team. He has a strong quantitative background but importantly, possesses a sound understanding of stock fundamentals. He also has a wealth of experience in tax-effective investing, an area of significant importance for many of our Australian clients.
