APPOINTMENT
ACADIAN ASSET MANAGEMENT (AUSTRALIA) LIMITED
Date: March 2018
Position: Head of Investments, Australia

Acadian Asset Management Australia has announced the appointment of Jean-Christophe (JC) de Beaulieu as head of investments, Australia, effective February 2018.

In this role, de Beaulieu leads the local investment team that runs a range of long only and long/short systematic Australian equity strategies, and has both portfolio management and research responsibilities. He joins from the firm's Boston office.

Prior to joining Acadian, de Beaulieu was the managing director of the active emerging market equity portfolio management team at State Street Global Advisors, also based in Boston.

Commenting on his appointment - and that of Zhe Chen, who joined as associate portfolio manager, research late last year - Acadian's CEO of Australia, Andrew Hair, said: "We're delighted to have JC and Zhe join the team. JC's been working in our Boston office since October so it's great to finally have him on the ground with us. He has a strong quantitative background, and - importantly for the ongoing development of our business in Australia - extensive experience of running a team that tailors a global systematic possess for regional and country portfolios."

Hair added: "The expansion of the investment team in Australia also reflects our recent growth, with assets managed for clients in the region growing significantly over the last four years to over $7.5bn."

He has replaced David Walsh, who left the role in May 2017 to join RF Capital.
