Four sensational Mos in support of men's health

Movember

Industry Moves was delighted to add its support to Movember and industry gents Tony McDonald, Damian Lillicrap, Mr Incognito & Joe Marassa who each grew a Mo as part of the campaign to change the face of men's health. Their Mos were sensational but one in particular caught our eye...

Our prize went to Joe Marassa who didn't just grow a Mo, he completely changed his appearance! We asked him about his Movember experience.

We have a winner...

Joe Marassa Joe Marassa
Head of Marketing, Franklin Templeton Investments

Reason for participating: "I have witnessed firsthand the impacts of mental health and believe that causes such as this can really make a difference while having some fun actually trying to grow a real moustache!!!"

What have you enjoyed most about having a mo?
Obviously it's been fun (plenty of laughs at my expense) growing the mo and using it to support a great cause. But I also participated in the initiative as part of a team of several other colleagues at Franklin Templeton Investments both here in Australia and globally and it's been great swapping stories and photos with them as well. Not sure what this year's total is but last year, the Franklin Templeton team raised over $15,000 USD.

Have people treated you differently - if so give an example?
This was the first time I've ever grown a mo and it not only took a lot of people by surprise but was a great conversation starter (helped get those donations over the line).

Are you going to keep it?
Unfortunately (or fortunately if you take my wife Lisa's perspective) I was starting to "grow" attached to it but it's already gone!!! Great excuse to grow another one next year!

These Mos are nothing to be sneezed at either...

Tony McDonald Tony McDonald
Director, IT&C Consulting Services Pty Limited

Reason for participating: "My 3rd son and his old school mates are actively involved with running a support group for men with health and mental issues. They asked 2 dads to join who could grow a real Mo."

Incognito Mr Incognito

Reason for participating: "To draw attention to a worthy cause and show some imagination."

Damian+Lillicrap Damian Lillicrap
Head of Investment Strategy, Investments, QSuper

Reason for participating: "It is a cause that I have always believed is worthy and that I have supported via donations before. As more people I know have been affected by prostate cancer I felt it was time to step up and do a little more (and given my sorry ability to grow facial hair, little will be the key word - but it's not the size of the dog in the fight is it!)."
